Why Year End Is The Perfect Time to Hire a Virtual Assistant

If you’re reading this in December or the New Year, then well done on surviving or thriving in 2024.

Whether it felt like you clung on but you’re excited for next year, or if you really achieved some incredible things in your business, either way…you can’t wait to sustainably add to that growth next year with some newer and more butterfly in the tummy exciting plans.

I’m here for it all. Whether you’re running your own business or have a CEO seat in someone else’s business that you adore, we’re all looking ahead to a fresh year and lots of really exciting possibilities - hopefully after some festive rest!

So today I want to share why all this reflection, celebration, and looking forward that you do in your usual year-end tasks make this the BEST time to hire a VA.

This first thing you are probably doing is a year end review, focusing on what went well and what you know could be different for the coming year.

The peace of mind from looking back and seeing how everything grew can be so energising. It’s getting you excited for next year.

This review process is also incredibly helpful to know if a VA could be a feasible next step.

This year you pushed harder and made a bigger impact, and it shows in the data. You’ve poured over your numbers, your profit margins, the results you got for your clients in your business - your hard work paid off.

Leads landed faster than before, referred you on with rave reviews and it just felt good.

You might have even surprised yourself with how well you actually did, and you realise you’ve done better this year than you hoped. Well done for smashing it!

Seeing higher profit margins than you expected can make you realize that you could get more support without putting anything at risk. And that’s super exciting!

With a clearer picture painted from that year-end review data, decisions you’ve been eager to take, like deciding to get a VA on board are easier to make.

If you’ve done all this on your own, now you can actually imagine how much you could accomplish with someone to hand off the things you no longer want to do.

Relief is the word a lot of our VA clients use when they finally make that decision to hire a VA, they all express they wish they had hired sooner, even when they were doing pretty well on their own.

This year-end review is setting you up for success in general and specially with a VA.

Now you can tune into what parts of the business you need support in, and bring in a VA with the skills you actually need.

Hopefully your year end review shows you that you can be more supported and deserve to be.

I’m very excited for you to experience an even better year, because having a right hand in business really means you get to offload tasks, knowing they’re being done while you’re super focused on the parts of business or life that matter most to you.

Or maybe you realize you actually need an additional employee on the team and have the budget for it.

So you are looking to bring someone on with specialised skills. Our VAs can help you set up that initial job hunt to make sure you get the right fit.

From taking down and creating the job description to placing adverts and reviewing applications, our VAs make the admin of hiring someone new a breeze, no more hours of screening - they’ll set up tripwire questions, screen out and flag the best candidates for you.

The second thing you’re likely doing this time of year is setting goals for the new year that are bigger and bolder. This is especially helpful when bringing on a virtual assistant because knowing these goals can tell you what kind of VA support you need.

I know you're ambitious, and you probably have some big, but doable goals to keep growing the business in the new year. Those might include focusing on things that have been falling through the cracks, like your client’s experience.

Let’s say your goal is to double the number of clients you have.

You love giving your clients personalized attention, especially during onboarding, so that goal of doubling makes you wonder if it’s possible to scale that. That could make you realize that your onboarding needs love and attention.

Then you realise that there’s not a clear enough SOP, and that’s why you’re worried about delegating.

Well, with a VA, you can verbally process that whole step by step on a call; they’ll capture it all, get the SOP together, and understand all the little touches that are so important to you.

All of this will then allow you to delegate this process without losing the gold standard you take so much pride in.

Plus, they’ll even be able to add those finer touches you’ve really been wanting to add, like sending a welcome gift and setting them up on your systems far faster than when it was all down to you alone.

You could handle more enquiries, never miss a detail or let a lead go cold again and give clients the most rave-worthy experience because your VA can do so much of it for you.

Suddenly growing the business further in the first half of next year looks super doable doesn’t it?

Because with a VA working with you, once you land a new client, you can hand it over to your VA to complete on-boarding (from the SOP they wrote detailing how to do it all).

And you’re able to see all of that possibility and hire the right virtual assistant because you’ve taken the time to set new 2025 goals.

Resting and reflectively wanting more…

Now that you’ve done your year-end review and set your big goals, the third thing you’re hopefully doing this time of year is resting.

You’ve done marvelous things this year, you’ve worked hard to get yourself and your business to where you are now, and you’re taking a celebratory extended holiday.

You might even be thinking ‘How do I get more of this next year?’

Resting this time of year makes you realize how good it feels to get to turn off and still keep the business running. This lets you know that it’s time for additional support like a VA.

This same time next year, you could be resting even more deeply.

It could look like this:

You get to put down the laptop days before Christmas, instead of on Christmas eve like before.

You’re cuddled up with your loved ones, giggling and just being present because business is being taken care of by your VA.

Enquiries land, while you rest and they get taken care of and booked in without needing to put the egg nog down. The systems your VA created are working like clockwork.

You’re raising a glass of champagne on New Years Eve, feeling extra content because you were able to completely switch off over the festive period.

Nothing fell through the cracks, everything was done and literally wrapped in a bow by your VA.

Bet you had a brilliant idea for the business, voice noted it to your VA and when you returned after the festive season, it was broken down into tasks in your task management systems and your VA was already working away on it.

Now you realize you want more space on your calendar the whole year more time to be with your loved ones, doing things that fill up your cup because when you do, you get THE best ideas and everyone gets the best of you.

Business naturally feels easier, clients are better served and everything flows when you’ve got more flexibility and you’ve had time to take care of yourself.

You want to say yes the next time a message pops up from a work friend asking if you’re free for a coffee later, because they’re in the area.

You want 2025 to be the year where the idea of taking a couple of wholesome hours off to spend seeing a friend in the middle of the day, or clocking off at 4pm to hit the gym feels easy, or better yet having a dinner date where you don’t need to check emails when you nip to the loo!

Rest, play and doing things that fill up your cup is high on the agenda, whilst still being able to hit all of your goals, right?

As a business owner who’s about to take on more, you have to rest and take care of yourself even more.

Downtime doesn’t have to mean things don’t get done.

I’ll never tire of saying just how magic a Virtual Assistant is, because having them as your right hand really does help you take more time for you.

Take it from one of our clients who said, and I quote: It is liberating to be able to focus so deeply upon the things that matter to me, like time with my business partner, team and family.”

When you’ve got someone who has your business back getting back to enquiries, moving meetings, researching guests for your podcast, or organising that event venue way ahead of time, it means you can switch off.

There’s no feeling guilty that you switched off early because your VA is tackling tasks and flagging priorities, all while you recharge, so you can continue to show up like the authority you are, be a better leader in your industry, or simply a better partner or parent.

Rest is productive and the person who can help you switch off, is the person who gets sh*t done for you - your VA.

I know you want this year to feel even better, to reach your goals in an even bigger way.

You want to have an even stronger 2025 and you know you need a virtual assistant to help you achieve that. They are magic and to our clients they are worth their weight in gold, so why wait?

Let’s chat now and set you up for an even bigger, brighter and more productive new year now.
